Nota d'usoCon verbi come to say, to think, to believe è possibile usare la costruzione passiva to be said, to be thought, to be believed + to + infinito, che si traduce in italiano con una forma impersonale: He is said to be a good actor, si dice (o dicono) che sia un bravo attore; ha fama di essere un bravo attore; High speed is thought to have been the cause of the accident, si pensa (o si ritiene) che l'incidente sia stato causato dall'elevata velocità; The people arrested are believed to belong to a terrorist group, si ritiene che gli arrestati appartengano a un gruppo terroristico; John was believed to be innocent, si credeva che John fosse innocente (o John era ritenuto innocente).
